MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (60)

Mechanical Engineering is the mother branch of other engineering branches like civil, electrical, electronics or computer science. It lays an important role in almost all the engineering branches and the knowledge of any branch of engineering is incomplete without having the knowledge of this branch. Mechanical Engineering is in great demand in industries, govt. departments, private sectors, and public sectors. The main constituents of mechanical engineering are men, machines and materials that are very much necessary to run any industry and this branch is mainly concerned with the scientific analysis of all of these constituents. The Mechanical Engineering department is already in existence since the inception of the institute. From the session 2006-2007, a separate branch in Mechanical Engineering has been started to facilitate graduation level courses.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (90)

Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. The field first became an identifiable occupation in the late nineteenth century after commercialization of the electric telegraph and electrical power supply. It now covers a range of subtopics including power, electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications.Electrical engineering may include electronic engineering. Where a distinction is made, usually outside of the United States, electrical engineering is considered to deal with the problems associated with large-scale electrical systems such as power transmission and motor control, whereas electronic engineering deals with the study of small-scale electronic systems including computers and integrated circuits.

ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING (120)

It deals with principles of electronic devices, telecom sector and not only with equipment but also covers all the essentials of transmission, reception and processing of any data in digital or analog format. The prospects and functions of an Electronics Engineer are directly reflected by the various applications of electronics in our day-to-day life and the important role it plays in our economy. They are generally involved with the working of telecommunication, radio, microwave, systems, sound system, computer technology, instrumentation and control engineering. The electronics industry has a high employment to capital ratio and therefore, a potential for employment generation.

COMPUTER ENGINEERING (120)

This course is concerned with theoretical and engineering aspects of computer System Architecture and application software, computer networks, Internet technology and applications. Adequate emphasis is also given to programming, algorithm design and analysis and formal languages. Technical education in computers and IT is playing a very important role in global scenario whether it is business, defense, medicine or design and production.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (30)

Information Technology is an evolving interdisciplinary field. It deals with the development, utilization; inter relation and confidence of computers, networking, telecommunication, business and technology management in context of global Internet. It is the study of techniques involved in information, creation, transmission, distribution and receiving. It is a unique branch, which is blend of Electronics, Communication & Computer Science In short, it is Computer Communication. Present trends faces on online business through e-commerce, corporate Internets, partner-to-partner transactions and websites. As we enter the Information Age of the 21st century, society will be increasingly dependent on information technology and demand for IT professionals will remain high through out the decades to come.
